  • Custom2 Shrider served 32 years at Miami University, nine as head basketball coach from 1957 to 1966 and 25 as athletic director from 1964 to 1988. Under his leadership, Miami’s intercollegiate athletics program expanded to 11 men’s sports and eight women’s sports. He helped lead Miami to 16 Reese Cups and one Jacoby Cup — both symbols of athletic excellence in the Mid-American Conference. His teams captured four MAC championships and compiled a league record of 76-34, including a winning mark against every other team.
