  • Custom2 Gwozdecky, who served as Miami hockey’s head coach from 1989 to 1994, was the first hockey coach inducted into the Cradle of Coaches Association. He became the first person in college hockey to win national championships as a player at the University of Wisconsin–River Falls, as an assistant at Michigan State University, and as a head coach at the University of Denver. In just four seasons, he led Miami to its first Central Collegiate Hockey Association title and its first NCAA Tournament appearance from 1992 to 1993.
