Miami Welcomes Bowling Green to Millett Hall This Weekend

THIS WEEKEND: The Red and White continue conference play by hosting Bowling Green this weekend, as the RedHawks face the Falcons this Friday, Oct. 31Â at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 1 at 4 p.m.Â
ABOUT BOWLING GREEN: Bowling Green went 25-10 and held a 16-2 record in the MAC in 2024. The Falcons are currently 13-11 (7-5 MAC), as they most recently secured a 3-0 victory over Toledo. Bowling Green was chosen to finish first in the 2025 MAC Volleyball Coaches Poll and was also the favorite to win the MAC Tournament. Senior middle blocker Jessica Andrews, senior opposite Lauryn Hovey and junior setter Amanda Otten were named to the 2025 Preseason All-MAC Team.Â
Heading into this week's matches, Bowling Green has numerous players who rank among the top of the MAC statistically. Offensively, Hovey ranks first in service aces (0.48/set), second in points (4.64/set) and fourth in kills (3.77/set). Avery Hobson is eighth in both kills (3.29/set) and points (3.70/set). Otten has been the key facilitator for the Falcons, as she holds the fifth spot in assists (9.25/set). Defensively, Helen Wilford (1.17), Kendall Williams (1.07) and Jessica Andrews (1.03) are top 10 blockers in the conference. Sydnie Hernandez is third overall in digs (3.89/set) as well.
SERIES WITH THE FALCONS: The Red and White are 52-43 all-time when taking on the Falcons. Bowling Green is currently on a 12-match win streak versus Miami. The RedHawks last defeated the Falcons 3-0 at home on Oct. 10, 2019.

UP NEXT: The RedHawks hit the road for two conference matches at Central Michigan this weekend. Miami will take on the Chippewas on Friday, Nov. 7 at 6 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 8 at 4 p.m.
NUMBERS WATCH:Â Gentry Warrick is currently tied for fourth all-time in Miami history with 1.00 career blocks per set. She holds a total of 84 career solo blocks (fifth all-time in Miami history). Warrick also ranks second in the nation in total blocks (128) and 15th in blocks per set (1.44). Warrick currently leads the MAC in both total blocks and blocks per set. The Red and White stand at ninth in the country in team total blocks (225.5) as well.Â
RECENT ACTION: The RedHawks fell in a three-set match (21-25, 19-25, 15-25) against Ball State this past Tuesday evening at Worthen Arena. Despite the loss, freshman outside hitter Grace Kreutz set a career-high with three service aces, and senior middle blocker Gentry Warrick continued to lead Miami defensively with six total blocks. Last weekend, the Red and White split a pair of matches at Toledo. Offensively, Molly Creech recorded 3.22 kills per set while maintaining a .241 hitting percentage in those two matches. Notably, Creech led all players with a career-high 19 kills (.292 hit percentage) in a five-set win over Toledo on Friday night. Defensively, Gentry Warrick added 14 blocks (1.56/set) over the weekend to maintain her strong presence at the net. In addition, senior Lindsay Kahren surpassed 1,000 career digs against Kent State on Oct. 16, while senior Hayden Hicks reached a career milestone of 2,000 assists against Ball State on Oct. 7.Â
