SCOUTING REPORT: Has earned two varsity letters at Miami ... coaches say he is the most intelligent linebacker on the field ... one of the RedHawks[apos] most valuable players, he can play all three linebacker positions.
2007: Appeared in all but one of Miami[apos]s13 games ... got starting nod vs. Cincinnati and Vanderbilt ... was team[apos]s seventh-leading tackler with 54 stops ... had four tackles for loss, including two quarterback sacks ... broke up two passes and forced one fumble ... his top individual games came at Vanderbilt (14 tackles) and at Minnesota (11 tackles, two TFLs, one forced fumble and one PBU).
2006: Played in all of Miami[apos]s 12 games ... team[apos]s 12th-leading tackler with 21 stops, including 15 solos ... had season-high six tackles and forced a fumble at Syracuse.
2005: Appeared in two games ... made first career tackle at Temple.

HIGH SCHOOL: Four-year letterwinner as an outside linebacker ... totaled 68.5 tackles and five interceptions his senior season ... made 58.5 stops as a junior ... helped the Raiders to a combined three-year record of 34-6 ... first-team all-county his last two seasons ... also a three-year letterwinner on the wrestling team, winning the county title at 189 pounds his senior year ... coached by George Smith.
PERSONAL: Son of Dave and Leslie Shula ... father was the head coach of the Cincinnati Bengals from 1992-96 ... grandfather, Don Shula, was the head coach of the Miami Dolphins from 1970-95 and is in the NFL Hall of Fame ... majoring in sport studies.
