SCOUTING REPORT: Won his first varsity letter at Miami in 2008 ... will provide back-up support at wide receiver ... one of the receiving corps[apos] best blockers ... will be a valuable special teams contributor.
2008: Played in nine of team[apos]s 12 games, catching four passes for 47 yards ... his best game came in the season finale vs. Ohio when he gathered in three receptions for 42 yards, including a 31-yarder ... his first varsity reception came at Buffalo.
2007: Played against Akron, but did not have any receptions.
2006: Limited playing time.
2005: Redshirted.
HIGH SCHOOL: Lettered three seasons as a defensive back and return man for Colerain ... helped the Cardinals to a three-year record of 38-3, including three straight conference titles and an undefeated record and state championship in 2004 ... totaled 16 breakups and four interceptions as a senior ... an all-league, all-city, all-district, all-region and second-team all-state performer as a senior ... also an all-state sprinter with the track team ... prep coach was his dad, Kerry Coombs, now an assistant coach at the University of Cincinnati.
