SCOUTING REPORT: Came on strong during the last half of spring drills and is excited about his final season as a RedHawk tight end ... the incumbant starter is one of the strongest players on Miami's team ... a much-improved receiver, he does a great job picking up extra yardage after the catch ... he needs to work on the details of his route-running ... a big year could attract the attention of NFL scouts.
2011: Started in Miami's opener at Missouri, catching three passes for 12 yards.
2010: Was a starter in 10 of the 14 games he played ... he caught 10 passes for 129 yards ... he had three catches against both Colorado State and Missouri, and caught passes in six different games ... his career's first touchdown was a 15-yard catch against Colorado State ... earned his third letter.
2009: He earned his second varsity letter, starting seven of the 12 games in which he played ... his only reception of the season came in Miami's victory over Toledo.
2008: Played in eight games, but did not register any pass receptions ... won his first varsity letter.
2007: Redshirted.
HIGH SCHOOL: Earned honorable mention all-state honors as a senior and was an all-conference selection ... played in Ohio's 2007 North-South All-Star Game ... prep football coach was Tim Lewis.
PERSONAL: Born August 25, 1989 ... son of David and Constance Bruton ... brother, David, played defensive back for Notre Dame and currently is a member of the NFL's Denver Broncos ... Kendrick is majoring in English and creative writing.
