2014-2015: First-Team All-MAC ... named MAC Male Swimmer of the Week on two occasions (12/8, 1/19) ... undefeated in the 50-yard freestyle eight times ... top time turned was at the MAC Championships (19.90), which broke his own school record ... finished first at the MAC Championships in both the 50 and 100 freestyles ... finished second in the same event vs. Cincinnati (46.25) ... also competed in the 200-yard freestyle turning in first-place finishes vs. Buffalo (1:41.05) and at the MAC Championships (1:19.90) ... finished second in the same event vs. Purdue (1:44.62) and 19th at the Miami Invitational (1:40.55) ... in the 400-yard medley relay, finished first vs. Cleveland State (3:26.39), fifth at MAC Championships (1:29.95) and eight at the Miami Invitational (3:05.76) ... turned in two first-place finishes vs. Cincinnati (1:34.35) and vs. Ball State (1:34.13) as well as a fifth-place finish at MAC Championships (1:29.95) ... finished seventh in the 800-yard freestyle relay at the Miami Invitational (6:35.26).
2013-2014: Baumgartner kicked off his season with a second-place finish in the 400 freestyle relay against Xavier. He went on to take second in the 500 freestyle and first in the 100 freestyle against Cleveland State a week later. He contributed to a first-place finish against Ohio State in teh 200 freestyle relay and contributed to another top finish in the 400 freestyle relay against the Buckeyes. Against Purdue, Baumgartner was a third-place finisher in the 50 freestyle and a first-place finisher in the 100 freestyle. He was a member of Miami's first-place finishing 200 freestyle relay team. At the Miami Invitational, Baumgartner was a third-place finisher in the 800 freestyle relay and a fifth-place finisher in the 200 freestyle relay. He also added a fifth-place finish in the 100 freestyle and a fourth-place finish in the 400 freestyle relay. He took first in the 100 freestyle against Cincinnati. He was a member of Miami's first-place finishing 200 freestyle relay team against the Bearcats. Against Evansville, Baumgartner took second in the 100 backstroke and first in the 100 freestyle. He took first in the 100 freestyle a week later against Buffalo and finished second in the 50 freestyle. He contributed to a first-place finish in the 200 freestyle relay against Buffalo. Against Eastern Michigan, Baumgartner took first in the 200 medley relay and the 100 freestyle. He also took second in the 400 freestyle relay. He concluded the regular season with a win in the 200 freestyle relay against Ball State. At the MAC Championships, Baumgartner was tied for second in the 200 freestyle relay, third in the 50 freestyle, fourth in the 400 medley relay, 10th in the 200 freestyle, fifth in the 800 freestyle relay, fourth in the 100 freestyle and third in the 400 freestyle relay.
2012-2013: Baumgartner began his season with first-place finishes in the 50 and 100 freestyle races against Xavier .He took third in the 50 free and second in the 100 free at Purdue, then took second in both contests aginst Cleveland State. He also finished first in the 400 medlery relay and second in the 400 free relay against CSU. He finished second in the 800 free final and third in the 100 free in the Miami Invitational. He also took fifth in the 200 free relay and 400 medley relays, sixth in the 50 free and 400 free relay, and finished 22nd in the 200 free. Competing against Cincinnati, the sophomore took first in the 400 medley relay, as well as the 50 and 100 free races. He again took first in the 100 free against Buffalo and Eastern Michigan, then won the 50 and 100 free against Ball State. At the 2013 Mid-American Conference Championships, Baumgartner finished fifth in the 100 free, tied for fifth in the 50 free, and finished fourth in the 800 free relay.
High School: Earned all-state and all-conference honors ... set school record for the 50 freestyle (21.20), 100 freestyle (45.80) and 200 freestyle (1:42.00) ... ranked third in the 100 free and fifth in the 200 free in Missouri ... was team captain senior year ... also played three years of water polo.
Personal: Parents are Mike and Susan Baumgartner ... majoring in microbiology.
