2016-17: Competed in ten meets this season ... primary events were the 50 free, 100 free and 200 free ... won the 200 free against Ball State ... also won the 200 free relay against Wright State (1:25.78) and Ball State (1:24.60) ... won the 400 free relay against Purdue (3:09.01), Ohio State (3:06.63) and Buffalo (3:05.19) ... took third in the 50 free against Eastern Michigan (21.50) ... won the 200 free relay at the MAC Championships (1:20.49) ... placed fourth at MACs in the 50 free (20.52) and 800 free relay (6:34.79), eighth in the 200 free (1:40.68) and ninth in the 100 free (45.50). 2015-2016: Placed fourth in the 50-yard freestyle on two occasions: vs. Cincinnati (21.55) and vs. Eastern Michigan (21.53) ... took fifth in the same event on multiple occasions, including at the Miami Invitational, where he clocked a time of 20.95 ... placed seventh in the same event at MACs (20.65) ... collected second place in the 100-yard freestyle vs. Purdue (47.53) ... finished fourth in the same event on multiple occasions including vs. Eastern Michigan (46.82) ... took 10th in that event at MACs, touching the wall at 45.24 ... placed 15th in the 200-yard freestyle at MACs (1:40.17) ... was third in the 500-yard freestyle vs. Ball State ... collected a win for Miami in the 100-yard backstroke vs. Ball State (53.54) ... placed second in the 200-yard IM vs. Ball State ... swam a leg of the 200-yard freestyle relay vs. Xavier (1:24.67), finishing first ... took third in the same event at the MACs (1:20.34) ... finished first in the 400-yard freestyle relay vs. Purdue ... took fifth in the same event at MACs (2:59.89) ... was fifth in the 400-yard medley relay at MACs (3:17.48).

2014-2015 Academic All-MAC ... competed in five events at MAC Championships, amassing 27 points for his individual events ... finished ninth in the 50-yard freestyle (20.59) ... placed ninth in the 200-yard freestyle (1:38.70) ... earned third in the same event against Cleveland State ... claimed ninth in the 100-yard backstroke at MAC Championships (44.76) ... was fifth in the same event against Purdue ... swam a leg of the 200-yard freestyle relay at MAC Championships, finishing first (1:19.90) and setting a new school record ... turned in two first-place finishes in the same event against Xavier and Buffalo ... was third in the 400-yard freestyle relay at MAC Championships (2:57.56), setting another school record ... finished second in the same event against Cincinnati (3:07.14) ... was sixth in the 400-yard medley relay at the Miami Invitational (3:22.36) ... claimed third in the 1000-yard freestyle against Ball State (10:13.18) ... finished second in the 500-yard freestyle against Ball State (4:50.04).

2013-2014: Strauss began his Miami career with a first-place victory in the 200 medley relay and the 100 backstroke against Xavier. He also finished third in the 100 freestyle against the Musketeers. Against Cleveland State, Strauss swam to a fourth-place finish in the 50 freestyle and a third-place finish in the 100 freestyle. He was third in both the 200 medley relay and the 100 freestyle against Cincinnati. He also took first in the 200 freestyle relay. Against Buffalo, he finished seventh in the 200 medley relay, the 50 freestyle and the 100 freestyle. He finished third in the 200 freestyle relay. Strauss finished eighth in the 100 freestyle and fourth in the 400 freestyle relay against Eastern Michigan. Against Ball State, he took third in the 400 medley relay, third in the 50 freestyle and first in the 200 freestyle relay. At the MAC Championships, Strauss finished 14th in the 50 freestyle, 10th in the 100 backstroke, ninth in the 100 freestyle and third in the 400 freestyle relay.

High School: Swam for John Valentine at Barrington High School and earned varsity letters in swimming and was named team captain twice. In addition to swimming for four years, he also played volleyball and football his freshman year. He set school records in the 100 free, 200 medley relay, 200 free relay and the 400 free relay. Strauss competed at the Illinois High School State Championships and finished ninth in the 100 free and ninth in the 200 free relay during his junior year. He finished ninth in the 100 free, ninth in the 200 free relay and eighth in the 400 free relay as a senior. He competed at the Illinois Senior Championships, the Illinois High School State Championships and the 2013 Speedo Junior Nationals in Irvine, California... was All-Conference and All-Sectional throughout his high school career (2010, 2011, 2012, 2013) and was All-State in 2012 and 2013. He was Honor Roll throughout his high school career.

Personal: Son of Tom and Barb Strauss, born August 29, 1995. Jack joins a long line of family members who attended or currently attend Miami University including both parents, Barb ('85) and Tom ('84), his aunt, Sue McMahon Hyde ('84), his uncle, Shef Hyde ('82), his cousin, Andy Hyde ('12) and current Miami student and cousin, Emily Hyde, who is a member of the women. He is majoring in Finance.
