Max Dukovac and Rihards Simanovičs each had two points to lead Miami (7-21-3, 1-18-2 NCHC). Urdahl and Brock Bremer had multi-point games for the Mavericks (17-10-4, 10-8-3 NCHC).
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- 18:29 1st (Omaha 1-0) | With just a minute and a half left in the first period, Omaha took a 1-0 lead on a goal from Kirby Proctor that ricocheted off the pipes to score. Proctor's one-timer came off assists from Jack Randl and Tanner Ludtke.
- 5:09 2nd (Omaha 2-0) | Jimmy Glynn doubled the Mavericks' lead to 2-0 in the middle period, finishing off a feed from Jesse Lansdell. Bremer started the play by passing ahead to spring a 2-on-1 and earned the secondary assist.
- 11:28 2nd (Miami 2-1) | John Waldron got the RedHawks on the board with a power-play goal near the game's midway point. Matthew Barbolini collected the puck by the post and fed it to Raimonds Vitolins, who hit it off the boards behind the net. Waldron grabbed it on the far side and quickly fired a shot past Omaha's Simon Latkoczy.
- 8:59 3rd (Omaha 3-1) | Bremer stretched the Mavericks' lead with a power-play goal in the third period. Joaquim Lemay skated the puck along the side boards and connected with Urdahl at the right point. His shot was saved by Bruno Bruveris, but Bremer was in the right place to retrieve the rebound and make it 3-1.
- 13:45 3rd (Miami 3-2) | Dukovac started the Miami comeback, perfectly redirecting a shot from Simanovičs past Latkoczy to pull the RedHawks within 3-2. Simanovičs initially controlled the rebound off a Ryan Sullivan shot to keep the play alive.
- 17:39 3rd (Miami 3-3) | Axel Kumlin juked a defender near the blue line and tied the game up 3-3 with less than three minutes remaining. He received the puck from Simanovičs after Dukovac got the play started by eluding a pair of Mavericks in the neutral zone.
- 19:06 3rd (Omaha 4-3) | Urdahl scored the game-winning goal with 54 seconds left to break the tie and give the Mavericks the victory. Matt Miller and Nolan Sullivan passed the puck up the right boards for Urdahl to chase down and shoot.
