RedHawks Fall to Raiders 23-7

DAYTON, Ohio — The Miami University baseball team fell by a score of 23-7 to the Wright State Raiders Tuesday afternoon. The RedHawks drop to 2-10, while the Raiders move to 3-8.
The RedHawks had an eye for the long ball in today's matchup. Five of their seven runs were scored courtesy of the home run.
HOW IT HAPPENED

The Raiders struck first, scoring two runs in the bottom of the first inning.

With one out in the top of the fourth, Zach MacDonald doubled to right center. Benji Brokemond singled to score MacDonald. Cooper Weiss followed up with a single to third base. With two on and two out, Tommy Harrison brought everyone home with a three-run blast to right field, making 4-2 Miami.

In the bottom of the fourth, the Raiders scored 11 runs to take the lead for good.

In the top of the 6th, Ryland Zaborowski homered down the left field line. Two batters later, MacDonald followed up with his own solo shot to center field, making it 13-6 Raiders.

In the top of the ninth, Nate Stone reached base due to a fielding error. Blake Buzzeo reached base due to being hit by a pitch. Stephen Krause reached base on a fielder's choice to load the bases. MacDonald followed up with a fly out to right field to score Stone. Stone was the final RedHawk to cross home, making the final score 23-7.
MIAMI GAME NOTES
- Harrison, MacDonald and Zaborowski each hit home runs in the RedHawks' effort.
- Brian Zapp drew multiple walks (2) and stole multiple bases (2) for the second consecutive game.
