CYPRESS, Texas – D1 Baseball ranked Miami 88th on its list of the top 100 Division I baseball programs, the organization announced this week. The top 100 list aims to identify the nation's top programs based on their current status and outlook over the next five to 10 years.
The recognition comes after head coach Brian Smiley led the RedHawks to a 48-15 record in conference play over the last two seasons, along with back-to-back MAC regular-season titles and one NCAA Tournament berth. Last season, Miami finished in the top 50 nationally in RPI, earned MAC Player, Coach, and Freshman of the Year honors, and ranked among the top five teams in the country in walks, on-base percentage, runs, and runs per game.
