
Pair of Wins Highlight Day 2 at Gladstein

Bechtel and Finnegan each win 200m.
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Miami University track and field team finished up its weekend at Indiana's Gladstein Invitational Friday.
Junior Olivia Bechtel, coming off a second place finish in the 400m yesterday, carried her moment into today's 200m race as she took first place with a 24:46. This marks another personal record for the Bay Village, Ohio native. Another PR came from Rachel Kotchman, who took fifth in the 800m fast section with a personal best 2:14.23. In the relays, the 4x400 team of Bechtel, Sarah Bruns, Faith Baxter, and Kalliopi Kountouri and the 4x800 squad of Kotchman, Emma Bryant, McKenna Fry, and Claire Linn each took third. In field events, Mikaylah Woods took fourth in the long jump with a PR 5.72m distance.
For the men, Luke Finnegan and Jake Owens went first in second in the 200m, running 22.30 and 22.55 respectively. Junior Ivan Dye grabbed third in the fast section of the same event with a 22.58. Kenny Glenn finished in the top three of the long jump after some solid performances in the sprints on Friday, jumping a distance of 7.05m.

The RedHawks will make a return trip to Bloomington next weekend to compete in the IU Relays on Jan. 25-26.
