RedHawks Open XC Season at Home; Men and Women Win Team Event

OXFORD, OHIO- The Miami cross country team opened the 2026 season at home, hosting Dayton and Cincinnati at the RedHawk Rumble. Both the men and women won the team events, with the men competing in a 6k and the women in a 5k. The RedHawk women swept the individual podium; freshman Morgan Dick won the race, sophomore Marisa Heil took second and senior Cara Razavi claimed third.

HOW IT HAPPENED

MEN

Evan Jarold crossed the finish line first for the RedHawks in 18:07.40, taking third place overall out of 30 runners. Teammate Ishak Mekideche followed closely, finishing in 18:19.90 for fourth place.
Luke Mussard also placed in the top 10 with a time of 18:38.30.
Petros Sanchez Ropero (18:46.30), Ben Fahnestock (18:47.80), Josh Razor (18:50.70), and Ian Jacobs (18:52.40) finished 11th-14th, respectively.
Brandon Haas (18:58.90), Adrian Stechschulte (19:26.40), Nick Dunn (20:33.99) and Taman Chokshi (21:50.70) all also competed in the 6k.
Running unattached, Charles Namiot (18:06.80) took second and Tom Heal (18:43.10) finished 10th.

WOMEN

Dick (17:44.08), Heil (17:55.16) and Razavi (18:12.40) took first, second and third out of 31, respectively, sweeping the podium for the women's 5k.
Linda Conchetto also placed in the top 10, finishing in 18:40.40. Lily Eddington took 11th, finishing in 18:57.03.
Monica Guijarro and Grace Streek also competed, finishing in 19:22.21 and 19:55.64, respectively.

The RedHawks are set to compete next in Chicago, Ill., at the Loyola Lakefront Invite on Friday, September 25th.
