Muresan brings home a victory in hurdles, third in 60m dash.
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - With a win in the 60m hurdles and a top-three in the 60m dash, Aaron MuresanĀ paced the RedHawksĀ in day one of the Indiana's GladsteinĀ Invitational Friday.
The senior from Dublin, Ohio put together a 8.16 time in the 60m hurdles to take the victory, a race in which fellow RedHawkĀ Al Margo also finished in the top five. In the 60m dash, MuresanĀ took third with a 7.13 after placing first in preliminaries with a 6.97. Kenny Glenn grabbed second in the 60m, clipping Muresan with a 7.12. Elsewhere on the track, junior Ivan Dye set a personal record time of 48.99 in the fast section of the 400mĀ to finish fourth. Sprinter Jake Owens also had a pair of nice performances, finishing 6th in the 60m Dash and second in his section of the 400m. Over in the distance races, Anthony Camerieri won his section of the one mile with a 4:12.60.
For the Miami women, junior Olivia Bechtel continued her nice string of performances with a second-place finish in the 400mĀ as she set a personal record time of 54.79. The Miami trio ofĀ Emma Mashburn, Claire Linn, and McKenna Fry went second, third and sixth respectively in their section of the 3000m, with all three setting personal records in the process. In the fast section of the one mile, Carly Davis earned a top-ten finish with a 5:02.96. Over in the field events, junior Hannah FalcioneĀ reached a personal-best distance of 11.82m in the triple jump, good for a third-place finish. Sydney Jefferson also shattered her PR in the weight throw, tossing a distance of 15.40m to earn a top-ten spot.
