BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - After flying from Cincinnati to White Plains, N.Y. Wednesday evening, second-seeded Miami bussed to Bridgeport, Conn. and arrived at the team hotel around 8:30 p.m. The RedHawks then enjoyed a team meal while the team's gear was unloaded at Webster Bank Arena.
On Thursday, Miami went to the arena for the first time as a team as senior captains Alden Hirschfeld and Will Weber, junior captain Reilly Smith and freshman forward Austin Czarnik were interviewed by ESPN's John Buccigross and Barry Melrose, who are calling the game on ESPNU Friday. The quartet also had video headshots filmed by ESPNU. The team then practiced from 3:15 to 4:15 p.m. before Hirschfeld, Smith, Weber and head coach Enrico Blasi answered questions at Miami's press conference. A photo gallery of the day's events and video of the press conference are above.
Miami begins NCAA Tournament play Friday at 6:30 p.m. against third-seeded UMass Lowell at Webster Bank Arena. The game will be televised on ESPNU and streamed on ESPN3.com. The official Miami watch party is being held at Brick Street Bar and Restaurant in uptown Oxford (36 E. High Street) for students and fans watching the game in Oxford. Any fan wearing Miami gear will receive 25 percent off a sandwich platter from Brick Street. Should the RedHawks advance to Saturday's regional final, Brick Street will also hold an official watch party with the game beginning at 6:30 p.m. The regional final is also televised on ESPNU.
