Miami Hockey Announces Addition of David Helledy

OXFORD, Ohio— Miami Hockey head coach Anthony Noreen announced today that David Helledy will join the RedHawks' program ahead of the 2026-27 season. Helledy, a defenseman from Milwaukee, Wisc., spent last season with Bentley University.

PRIOR TO MIAMI
- Played two seasons for Bentley, leading Falcons to the program's first-ever AHA tournament championship (2025) and first AHA regular-season title (2025-26)
- Helped Bentley repeat as AHA tournament champs in 2026 and was named to All-Tournament Team
- Put up 20 points (6-14-20) in 40 games for Falcons in 2025-26 season, tied for most by a Bentley defenseman that year
- Scored a goal in 2026 NCAA Tournament vs. Michigan
- Played in 24 games for Bentley as a freshman (2024-25), contributing two assists, and was named to Atlantic Hockey All-Academic Team
- Set Maine Nordiques (NAHL) franchise record for single-season points by a defenseman with 47 in 2023-24 (11-36-47) after collecting 21 (6-15-21) the year before
- Was an assistant captain with Nordiques in 2023-24 season
- Named to All-NAHL East Division Team and All-NAHL First Team in 2023-24, finishing as runner-up for NAHL Defenseman of the Year
- Was +61 across 127 total games (regular-season and postseason) in two full seasons with Nordiques
