OXFORD, Ohio - As has become an annual tradition, the Miami hockey team served dinner to members of the Oxford community at Rico's Ristorante Tuesday night at Bell Tower Place on Miami's campus. The event was sponsored by the Blue Line Club.
A good time was had by both players and guests, as diners had several options for food. Senior captain Alden Hirschfeld and junior captain Reilly Smith greeted community members at the door. Seniors Chris Wideman and Patrick Tiesling served fresh greens at the salad bar while classmates Connor Knapp, Cameron Schilling, Matt Tomassoni and Trent Vogelhuber cooked up Chicago-style pizza.
Sophomore Bryon Paulazzo and freshman Alex Wideman cooked up tasty stir fry at the wok station as guests could pick their meat, vegetables and sauce, while senior captain Will Weber oversaw the kitchen operation. Juniors Joe Hartman and Steve Mason and sophomore Max Cook handed out wings and cheese sticks as zesty appetizers.
For dessert, seniors Cody Reichard and Ben Saksa made cherries jubilee while juniors Garrett Kennedy, Curtis McKenzie and Steven Spinell whipped up fruit smoothies. Several of the freshmen were then stuck in the back doing the dirty work cleaning dishes.
