It took Nick Winbush all of 9:08 to reach double-figures for the third consecutive game, as he connected on four of his first five 3-point attempts. He also collected 10 boards for his second double-double of the season.
Fifty percent shooting from the field enabled Miami to score 33 first-half points, their second-highest MAC total, trailing only the 44 points it put up against Northern Illinois on February 6.
Bowling Green failed to make a 3-pointer in the first half of today's game, shooting 0-for-6 in the opening stanza. This marked the fourth time this season that Miami has gone a half without giving up a 3-point basket. The other three were November 28 vs. Evansville (0-1), December 10 at Cincinnati (0-7), and January 26 at Ball State (0-2). Coincidentally, these were all first-half performances as well.
The two league leaders in blocked shots lived up to their billing as Miami ended up the game with six rejections and Bowling Green with four, both above their averages of 3.58 and 3.52, respectively.
Miami limited Bowling Green to three 3-point field goals, however Bowling Green was too much down low, scoring 40 points in the paint.
