AKRON, Ohio – On Friday afternoon, the Miami University softball team took on Akron University. The RedHawks fell to the Zips 4-3 after a seventh inning home run from Akron.

UP NEXT: The RedHawks are back in Akron, Ohio, again tomorrow to take on a doubleheader against the Zips at 1 p.m.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Kicking it off in the first inning, Bailey Manos homered, bringing in the RedHawks' first run of the game. Danitza Hernandez then stepped up to the plate and homered with Mia Estrello on first base, bringing her home with her. RedHawks lead, 3-0.
- Bringing the score to 3-1 in the third, the Zips scored, unearned, off a fielding error.
- Tying the game up 3-3 in the fourth, the Zips scored twice off a single hit.
- The Zips hit a solo home run in the seventh inning to garner the victory.
NOTES:
- Bailey Manos went 2-for-3 at the plate and had her 10th home run of this season.
- Angelina Ricciardi pitched 4.1 innings and only allowed two hits and two earned runs.
UP NEXT: The RedHawks are back in Akron, Ohio, again tomorrow to take on a doubleheader against the Zips at 1 p.m.
