RedHawks Fall in 10-0 Shutout Versus BGSU

OXFORD, Ohio – Miami was shut out by Bowling Green Saturday in a 10-0 decision after a four-run first inning for the Falcons. Ryan Novak and Carson Raether were offensive bright spots for the RedHawks, putting up two hits apiece. Miami falls to 12-5 (4-1 MAC) with the loss while Bowling Green moves to 5-11 (2-3 MAC).

The RedHawks will look to win the series tomorrow in game three against the Falcons. First pitch is set for 11 a.m.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Bowling Green's offense came out early, starting the game off with a walk and four hits to take a 4-0 lead.
- A hit and an error led to two more Falcon runs in the top of the second.
- Bowling Green added two more runs in the fourth after a leadoff double, a walk, and and a single to make it 8-0.
- The RedHawks managed two back-to-back hits and an HBP in the bottom of the fourth to load the bases but were unable to score.
- Two more hits extended the Bowling Green lead to 9-0 in the seventh. Back-to-back doubles stretched their lead to 10 runs in the eighth.
- Miami was unable to close the gap, resulting in a 10-0 eight-inning loss.
MIAMI GAME NOTES:
- Novak went 2-for-4.
- Raether went 2-for-3.
