RedHawks Dominate Friday, Highlighted by 19-Run Outing

BUIES CREEK, NC. – The Miami University softball team took on Radford University and Campbell University on Friday afternoon, earning a dominant 7-1 win in game one before a massive 19-12 win in game two.

HOW IT HAPPENED (GAME 1 vs Radford)
- Katy Olive got things started for the RedHawks in the bottom of the third with a home run, bringing in Mia Estrello.
- In the bottom of the fourth, the RedHawks continued their lead with a sacrifice fly from Bailey Manos, allowing Danitza Hernandez to head home, making the score 3-0.
- The Highlanders scored in the fifth inning, scoring from second on the throw, making the score 3-1.
- The RedHawks pulled away in the sixth inning. Hernandez launched a two-run home run, scoring alongside Leila Mathis. Manos followed with a triple that brought in Jeneva Mitchell, and Estrello added an RBI single to score Manos.
- Miami secured the 7-1 victory.

- Presley Hosick pitched a complete game and allowed only three hits and one run.
- Katy Olive went 2-for-4 at the plate, hit one home run, and was credited with two RBI.
- Danitza Hernandez went 2-for-3, hit one home run, and was credited with two RBI.
- Mia Estrello went 2-for-3 at the plate and was credited with one RBI.
- Lindsay Miller went 2-for-3 at the plate.
- Bailey Manos went 1-for-2 at the plate and was credited with two RBI, one being a sacrifice fly.
HOW IT HAPPENED (GAME 2 vs Campbell)
- The RedHawks got things going in the first inning with Manos scoring off a single by Olive. Olive later came home on a single from Miller, giving Miami a 2-0 lead.
- The Red and White added to their advantage in the second when McKenna Campbell scored from second on a fielding error. Manos followed with a double that brought in Mathis and Keri Kreuger, and later scored on a walk by Hernandez to make it 6-0.
- The Camels got on the board in the bottom of the third with a two-run home run, cutting the lead to 6-2.
- The Camels chipped away again in the fourth with a sacrifice fly to center field, making it 6-3.
- Miami extended its lead in the fifth as Mathis and Kreuger scored on a single by Manos, pushing the score to 8-3.
- The Camels answered in the bottom half of the inning with two runs off a double.
- In the top of the sixth, Hernandez widened the gap with a home run, bringing in Ella Carter from first. Krueger followed with a home run of her own, scoring Mathis, and Manos kept it going shortly after with another homer, making it 13-5.
- The Camels tightened the gap in the bottom of the sixth, scoring on a sacrifice fly, a single, three walks, and a double that brought in two runs, making it a one-run game at the end of the sixth, 13-12.
- In the top of the seventh, M. Campbell doubled with bases loaded, allowing Carter and Daina Munoz to score. Kreuger then hit a home run, bringing in M. Campbell with her. Olive then reached on a fielder's choice that allowed Manos to score, bringing the final score to 19-12.

- This is the most runs in a game for the RedHawks since 1979.
- Bailey Manos went 3-for-4 at the plate, had a double, a home run, and was credited with five RBI.
- Kari Krueger went 3-for-5 at the plate, hit two home runs, and was credited with four RBI.
- Mia Estrello went 3-for-5 at the plate.
- McKenna Campbell went 2-for-5 at the plate, had a double, and was credited with three RBI.
