RedHawks Set to Host OSU on Coach Condit Day

COACH CONDIT DAY: The RedHawks return home to host the Ohio State Buckeyes on Wednesday, Sept. 3 at 6:30 p.m. Miami will recognize former coach and Hall of Famer Carolyn Condit that night with the dedication of Coach Carolyn Condit Court, as the RedHawks unveil a new state-of-the-art Taraflex floor at Millett Hall made possible by gifts from a number of Condit's former student-athletes. This court will be unveiled prior to the start of the match. Throughout her legendary coaching career, Condit amassed a 682-554 record at Miami and also recorded 781 wins throughout her time as a head coach. Condit compiled more career wins than any coach in any sport in the history of Miami Athletics.Â
ABOUT OHIO STATE: Ohio State is coming off a season where it posted a 14-16 mark and went 7-13 in the Big Ten Conference. The Buckeyes are currently 0-2 after losing to VCU (24-26, 20-25, 17-25) and Miami (FL) (18-25, 16-25, 21-25) at the Canes Classic. Ohio State was picked to finish 13th in the 2025 Big Ten Preseason Volleyball Poll.Â
Over the two matches that OSU has played, Mina Gunes totaled 3.00 kills per set, and Mia Tuman added 8.17 assists per set to lead all Buckeyes. On the defensive end, Sydney Wyman recorded a team-high 1.50 blocks per set. Olivia Hasbrook led the team in digs per set (2.67), while Na'Vea Gauthier (2.50) and Tuman (2.17) followed closely behind.
THE SERIES WITH THE BUCKEYES: Ohio State leads the all-time series 12-4, with the RedHawks owning a 3-3 home record. The RedHawks and Buckeyes last faced off on Sept. 19, 2019, as Miami fell 1-3 (18-25, 23-25, 26-24, 20-25) in Columbus. The last time the Red and White secured a victory over Ohio State came in Coach Condit's first match as the head coach of Miami in 1984 in a three-set win.Â
TELEVISION: Miami's match against Ohio State will be aired on ESPN+.

BELLARMINE CLASSIC RECAP: The Red and White went 3-0 at the Bellarmine Classic this past weekend. Miami took down SIUE, Bellarmine and Indiana State in straight sets to end the weekend undefeated. Chelsea Williams (3.78 kills per set) and Hayden Hicks (6.33 assists per set) led the RedHawks on offense. Defensively, Lindsay Kahren (4.11 digs per set) and Gentry Warrick (1.89 blocks per set) led Miami. As a whole, the RedHawks limited opponents to a .130 hitting percentage over the entire tournament.Â
FRESHMEN IMPACT: Three freshmen saw action in Miami's first weekend of play at the Bellarmine Classic: Lauren Coyne, Molly Creech and Lindy Radaszewski. As a starter, Creech recorded 2.33 kills per set, 0.67 service aces per set, 0.44 blocks per set and 0.22 assists per set. Coyne put down 2.50 kills per set, 0.88 blocks per set and added 0.50 digs per set over the three matches. Radaszewski competed in each match over the weekend, as she totaled 0.22 assists per set, 0.22 service aces per set, 0.22 digs per set and 0.11 blocks per set.Â
WARRICK WATCH:
• Career blocks per set: 0.94 (eighth all-time in Miami history)
• Career solo blocks: 60 (tied for eighth all-time in Miami history)
STRONG RETURNS: Of its 16-player roster, the Red and White return 10 players from the 2024 season. Seniors Ava Francis (redshirt), Ellie Hanson, Hayden Hicks, Emily Morgan and Gentry Warrick anchor a solid veteran group. They are joined by juniors Raegan Lantz, Anna McClure (redshirt) and Chelsea Williams. The sophomore class includes Sophie Crawford and Lydia Michelin.Â
FRESH ON THE SCENE: Six newcomers will be joining the Miami roster as well. The RedHawks welcome four freshmen this season which includes Lauren Coyne, Molly Creech, Grace Kreutz and Lindy Radaszewski. Miami also brings on senior Lindsay Kahren (transfer from William and Mary) and sophomore Kamryn Utley (transfer from Lehigh).

EUROPEAN TRIP: This summer the RedHawks had the opportunity to go on a European tour (from late May into early June), visiting Milan, Bologna and Venice in Italy before traveling to Athens and Nafplio in Greece. The Miami group (including players, coaches and staff) enjoyed plenty of opportunities for sightseeing and sampling the local cuisine, while the Red and White also got to play four competitive matches against local professional teams.
