David Deputy led the Red and White offensively in Friday's game with two goals. Wilson Bjorck scored twice for the Tigers (8-7-2, 2-5-2 NCHC).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- 11:02 1st (Miami 1-0) | Maximilion Helgeson opened the scoring with an unassisted goal for the RedHawks. Helgeson picked up the puck in his own zone, muscled it up the right side of the rink, cut inside, and fired a shot past CC's Kaidan Mbereko for a 1-0 first-period lead.
- 16:50 2nd (Miami 2-0) | Miami made it 2-0 late in the second period. As a RedHawk power play expired, Matteo Giampa battled to keep the puck alive behind the Tigers' net, with Deputy eventually relaying a pass to Morozov in front for a scoring chance. Deputy kept the pressure on and knocked home the rebound for an even-strength goal to double the hosts' lead.
- 19:39 2nd (CC 2-1) | The Tigers got on the scoreboard in the final seconds of the second period, as Bjorck converted a one-timer on the power play off assists from Colton Roberts and Gavin Lindberg.
- 2:19 3rd (CC 2-2) | The visitors evened the score early in the third period after a long Riley Stuart shot deflected off the stick of one RedHawk and the body of another to slip past Matteo Drobac. Brandon Lisowsky and Brayden Schuurman were credited with the assists.
- 6:24 3rd (Miami 3-2) | The RedHawks grabbed their first power-play goal of the game to re-take the lead four minutes later. Kocha Delic worked the puck patiently in the offensive zone before sliding a pass to Giampa near the goalpost. Giampa spun away to draw the attention of the defense and then fed Deputy in the middle for an open finish to make it 3-2.
- 14:30 3rd (CC 3-3) | Colorado College tied the game again on a Schuurman goal as the winger stuck with the play after initial shot attempts by Bret Link and Ryan Alexander.
- 15:29 3rd (CC 4-3) | Less than a minute later, the Tigers claimed their first lead of the evening when Link carried the puck in close and Bjorck finished off the play for his second goal of the night. Scot Fisher also had an assist.
- 19:50 3rd (Miami 4-4) | With the clock winding down, the RedHawks came up with an extra-attacker goal to keep the game alive. Nassen did the honors, lighting the lamp off back-to-back lunging helpers from Ethan Hay and Ryan Smith.
- OT/SO | Smith scored an apparent game-winner midway through the extra period, but the goal was overturned after video review. Although the overtime ended without a game-winning goal for either team, Miami captured the shootout on a beautiful backhand move by Morozov.
