ON TAP: The Miami University women's basketball team puts its three-game win streak on the line with a trip to face the Colorado Buffaloes on Sunday, Dec. 14. Opening tip is scheduled for 3 p.m.
DOUBLE TROUBLE: Amber Tretter has 24 double-doubles in her career and is a near walking double-double in points (13.4) and rebounds (9.9) this season. She is also on pace to become just the second RedHawk in program history to record 1,000 career rebounds and has scored 777 points in her career, which ranks 49th in program history. This past week she averaged 20.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 2.5 assists, earning MAC Player of the Week.
BALANCED SCORING: Miami has four players averaging double-digits in scoring, led by Amber Scalia (14.0 ppg.) She is joined by Amber Tretter (13.4 ppg.), Tamar Singer (11.3 ppg.) and Ilse de Vries (11.0 ppg.).
BY THE MARGINS: Miami currently is second in the MAC in scoring (75.0) and fourth in defense (59.1), which results in a 15.9 point margin of victory, second-best in the conference. The RedHawks also lead the MAC in field goal percentage (.468), three-pointers made (89) and turnover margin (4.9).
WKU RECAP: Amber Tretter poured in 20 points to lead four Miami players in double figures and the RedHawks never trailed in an 80-53 victory over Western Kentucky Sunday afternoon. Tamar Singer matched her career high with 12 assists and Miami shot 57.7% from the floor and finished 12-of-24 (50%) from the three-point line.
ABOUT COLORADO: Colorado is 7-3 on the year and have won their last two contests over College of Charleston (66-47) and Wyoming (58-46). The Buffaloes feature a balanced scoring attack, led by Logyn Greer (10.9 ppg.), Desiree Wooten (10.4 ppg.) and Kennedy Sanders (10.0).
SERIES HISTORY: Miami is 0-1 all-time versus Colorado, last competing Nov. 28, 1998 in Boulder, Colo. The Buffs won 82-68.

LONG RANGE BOMBERS: Miami ranks 33rd nationally at 8.9 three-pointers per game. The RedHawks have made double-digit three-pointers in five of 10 games this season, including 13 at Purdue, 12 against Marist, Coastal Carolina and WKU and 10 against Bellarmine. Seven different RedHawks are shooting at least 33.3% from distance and four RedHawks have already made 10+ three pointers this season.
REPEATING THE WINS: For the second-straight season the RedHawks captured wins in seven of their first 10 contests. Prior to last season, Miami had not won seven games before conference place since the 2018-19 RedHawks opened the year 7-1.
THINGS CHANGE QUICKLY: The RedHawks rank 34th nationally in assist/turnover ratio (1.22 per game). This season the RedHawks have 183 assists compared to 151 turnovers. Last season Miami had 409 assists and 534 turnovers and in Coach Box's first year the RedHawks posted 336 assists and 547 turnovers. Miami has had more assists than turnovers in nine of 10 contests this season and currently rank 23rd nationally with 18.5 assists per contest.
NEW FACES, NEW PLACES: Miami has eight new players this season, which includes five transfers, two freshmen and a red-shirt freshman. Joining the RedHawks via the portal include Amber Scalia (St. Thomas), Clara Gonzalez Planella (Jacksonville State), Macie Taylor (Wright State), Ashton Elley (UAB), and Brooke Blumenfeld (NIU). Coach Box also added two freshmen (Mio Sakano and Anna Hurst) and Emily VanTimmeren, who technically joined the RedHawks last December, has yet to see action with the Red and White.
NEW, BUT NOT YOUNG: Despite eight new players on the roster, the RedHawks feature an experienced squad. Overall, the 12 players have combined to play in 579 games and make 291 starts. They have also combined to score in double figures 153 times.Â
SINGING HER PRAISES: Tamar Singer, one of the best freshman in the MAC a year ago, has taken her game to another level in 2025-26. Last season she averaged 6.3 points and 4.2 assists per game while running the point. This year she is averaging 11.3 points and 7.4 assists, which ranks sixth nationally. She has surpassed 20 points twice this season (none last year) and has led the team in scoring four times in 2025-26 (once all of last year).
PASSING RECORDS: Tamar Singer is threatening nearly every passing record in program history. The school recorded for assists in a game is 13 (Courtney Osborn and D'Nelle Seiple) ... Singer has twice posted 12 assists (IU-Southeast and WKU). Versus the Lady Toppers she has six assists before the first media time out (which has to be a school record). The school record for assists in a season is 175 (Jenna Schone) ... With no postseason play, Singer is on pace for 230 assists this season. The career record for assists is 596 (Heather Cusick)...Singer is on pace to finish this season with 352 career assists with two years remaining.
DE VRIES PLAYS OVERSEAS: This summer, sophomore Ilse de Vries represented the Netherlands as a member of the U20 National Team at the annual FIBA U20 EuroBasket League. In seven games, she averaged 11.1 points and 5.4 rebounds per contest. This season de Vries is averaging career bests in points, rebounds and assists. She has already posted six double-digit scoring contests after just three in 2024-25.
102 AND COUNTING: Amber Scalia will be competing in her 102nd career game on Sunday. Prior to joining the RedHawks, Scalia played in 91 games over three years at St. Thomas, where she scored 1,091 points and shot 34% from long distance. She has scored 1,245 points in 101 career games.
CHANDLER RETURNS: Head Coach Glenn Box may have a new assistant coach this year, but she is not new to the program. Maya Chandler, who played for the RedHawks last season, is in her first year as an assistant coach. Last season, Chandler averaged 11.6 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.0 assists per contest.
