BOULDER, Colo. – Amber Scalia scored 18 points and Amber Tretter added 14, but it wasn't enough as the Miami University women's basketball team (7-4) dropped a 75-55 decision to the University of Colorado on Sunday afternoon. Jade Masogayo led Colorado (8-3) with 19 points.

How it Happened:

Colorado made six of their first eight shots and led 13-5 at the first media timeout of the contest. The Buffs extended their lead 20-9 and thought they had an easy bucket before Ilse de Vries got a piece to send the RedHawks the other way. On the ensuing possession de Vries converted a three-point play and back-to-back layups from Tretter and Clara Gonzalez Planella made it 20-16 late in the quarter. CU led 22-16 after 10 minutes of play.
The Buffs scored the first 11 points of the second quarter before a pair of free throws from Scalia ended the Miami drought midway through the second quarter. After UC converted a pair of free throws, Tamar Singer knocked down a triple from the corner. After a defensive stop, Singer found Scalia in transition for another three pointer to make it 35-24. Colorado led 43-30 at the half.
Colorado opened the second half with a bucket to claim a 15-point lead and maintained that same advantage, 52-37, five minutes into the second half. Scalia connected on a triple to make it 53-40, but a 6-2 run pushed Colorado's lead to 17 late in the third. Five-straight points from Tretter cut the deficit to 12 but a pair of free throws from UC made it a 14-point contest heading to the fourth.
UC used a 9-2 run to begin the fourth to put the game out of reach.

Game Notes:

Amber Scalia finished the contest with 18 points, which included six from the foul line.
Amber Tretter extended her double-digit scoring streak to six-straight games. She added three steals.
