HOW IT HAPPENED
- 3:10 1st (Omaha 1-0) | The Mavericks scored in the game's fourth minute to take an early lead. Dylan Gratton sent a pass to Jacob Guevin in the middle of the rink, and Guevin carried the puck into the Miami zone before dropping it off for Myles Hilman. Hilman fired a quick shot from the top of the faceoff circle to put UNO on top 1-0.
- 17:22 2nd (Omaha 2-0) | After several dangerous Miami chances on a power play, Omaha came the other way for a short-handed goal to double its lead. Sam Stange fought to knock the puck free at his own blue line and raced down the right side before laying a feed off to Cam Mitchell behind him. Dahlmeir saved the initial shot attempt, but Mitchell converted on his own rebound to make it 2-0. Joe Gramer was also credited with an assist on the play.
- 6:47 3rd (Omaha 3-0) | The home team added to its lead in the third period, as Chase LaPinta muscled a puck away in the neutral zone, skated to his right, and was able to get a shot off from a tough angle along the goal line that sneaked in to give UNO a 3-0 advantage. Stange and Aiden Gallacher had the assists.
