COLORADO SPRINGS-- Miami Hockey's
Ethan Dahlmeir was named the NCHC Rookie of the Week for the week of Oct. 21-27, the conference announced today. Dahlmeir is the first RedHawk to win a weekly award from the conference this season.
The freshman goaltender from Lakeville, Minn. stopped 34 of the 35 shots he faced Saturday, helping Miami to a 4-1 victory over Lindenwood in the first home start of his career despite the RedHawks getting out-shot 35-17. Dahlmeir picked up his first collegiate win and helped the RedHawks go 5-for-5 on the penalty kill, including killing off a five-minute major in the final period. He added an assist on
Christophe Fillion's game-sealing empty-net goal, the first assist by a RedHawk goalie since February 2020. Dahlmeir was named the First Star of the Game for his efforts.
Dahlmeir and the RedHawks are back in action this Friday and Saturday (Nov. 1-2) for a home series against RPI. Puck drop is set for 7:05 p.m. both nights at Steve "Coach" Cady Arena.
