
Softball Picks up Back-to-Back Wins Sunday

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Miami softball team got back on track after picking up two dominant wins Sunday afternoon against Bradley and IUPUI. Miami put together solid performances both at the plate and in the field helping them push past both opponents. Miami opened the day with a 2-0 win over Bradley and wrapped up the weekend with a 12-1 win over IUPUI. Miami is now 2-3 on the season.
Offensively, the RedHawks had six different players record an RBI through both contests. Miami pitching contributed to the effort with both pitchers throwing complete games and allowing just one run between both opposing teams.
How it Happened (Bradley):
Miami heads down to Columbia, South Carolina on Friday to take on Troy University. Opening pitch is slated for 3:30 p.m.

How it Happened (Bradley):
- Brianna Pratt pitched a complete-game shutout behind a career-high 10 strikeouts while only allowing two hits.
- Miami took the lead behind a Karlee Juarez RBI single in the bottom of the fourth after being held scoreless through the previous three innings.
- Karli Spaid went 1-for-3 from the plate with one home run in the bottom of the fifth, extending Miami's lead to two runs.
- The RedHawks held off the Braves for the remainder of the contest, notching their first victory of the season by a score of 2-0.
- Holly Blaska and Allie Cummins both finished 1-for-2, with Cummins recording one double in the contest.
- In her first start, Taylor Turner pitched a complete-game with five strikeouts, allowing just one run through five innings on the mound.
- Maclai Branson put together an impressive performance from the plate, going 3-for-3 and recording two RBI with a homerun.
- Karli Spaid was a single shy of hitting for a cycle after going 3-for-4 with 4 RBI.
- Miami's offensive attack proved to be too much for the Jaguars as the RedHawks scored at least one run in every inning except the first.
- Miami posted nine runs in the top of the fifth to end the game in a run rule by a score of 12-1.
- Karlee Juarez, Adrianna Barlow, and Chloe Parks all finished 1-for-3 on the day.
- Zoe Bishop drove in two runs after doubling in her only appearance at the plate.
