SATURDAY'S GAME: Miami returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 8, traveling to Bowling Green for a 5 p.m. contest in a rescheduled game from Tuesday, Jan. 4. The RedHawks' home game against Akron, originally scheduled for January 8, was postponed. Miami is coming off a 91-81 win at Buffalo on Dec. 29 to open Mid-American Conference play.
ABOUT BOWLING GREEN: The Falcons enter Saturday's game with an 7-6 overall record and a 0-2 MAC mark. Bowling Green was clipped at Ball State in its MAC opener, 81-80, and dropped a 99-88 decision at Buffalo on Wednesday. Daeqwon Plowden leads the Falcons, averaging 15.2 ppg and 7.1 rpg. Joe Reece follows at 11.8 ppg and 6.1 rpg. Trey Diggs is the other Falcon averaging double figures in scoring at 10.0 ppg.

THE SERIES WITH THE FALCONS: Saturday marks the 147th meeting between Miami and Bowling Green with the RedHawks holding an 88-58 advantage in the all-time series. When playing in Bowling Green, the Falcons are 38-32 against the RedHawks. Miami has won six of the last eight meetings, including the last three match-ups. The RedHawks notched an 84-79 overtime win at the Stroh Center on March 2, 2021 in the last meeting between the teams. LAIRY TABBED MAC CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Following a career-high 28-point performance in a thrilling 91-81 win at Buffalo on Dec. 29, senior guard
Mekhi Lairy was named MAC Co-Player of the Week on January 3. Lairy scored 20 second-half points, helping the RedHawks evaporate an 11-point second-half deficit and lifting Miami to an 11-point advantage late in the game, in the RedHawks' lone contest of the week. It was Miami's first MAC-opening win since 2017-18. Lairy led all players in scoring, going 8-of-16 (.500) from the floor, including 4-of-5 (.800) from 3-point range, and was a perfect 8-of-8 from the free throw line. He accounted for five of the RedHawks' 12 assists for the game and added four rebounds to his line.
MAC OPENERS: The RedHawks opened their 75th Mid-American Conference season with a 91-81 win at Buffalo on Wednesday, Dec. 29. Miami is 51-24 in MAC openers and 24-15 when opening MAC play on the road. Â

Dae Dae Grant is Miami's leading scorer at 16.7 ppg, he also leads the team in assists at 4.4 apg. Twice this season he has posted eight-assist games and is averaging 5.2 apg over Miami's last five games. He had 61 assists in 32 games as a freshman and 55 in 23 games as a sophomore. Through 12 games this season, he is at 53 assists.
