The October 2 date marks the earliest regular-season date on the calendar for the RedHawks in program history. The RedHawks and Bulldogs are former conference rivals (CCHA, 1980-2013), but will be meeting in Big Rapids, MI for the first time since 2012. Miami leads the all-time series 46-44-16 after the two programs split a pair of games in Oxford in October 2019.

Coach Chris Bergeron met with the media this week to preview his team's season opener.
