RedHawks Host Toledo Tuesday at 7 p.m.

TUESDAY'S MATCH: The Miami University volleyball team returns home to host Toledo in a single match on Tuesday, March 9. This is a make-up from a previously postponed match. 

ABOUT TOLEDO: The Rockets enter Tuesday's match with a 3-7 record and are coming off a split at Eastern Michigan last weekend. Toledo dropped Friday's match against the Eagles, 0-3, before rebounding to take Saturday's match, 3-0. Taylor Alt averages a team-leading 3.81 kps, while Payton Morman averages 10.63 aps. Ryann Jaqua averages 4.51 dps, while Olivia Vance averages 1.13 bps. Rhyen Neal has served up a team-leading 15 service aces this season.

THE SERIES WITH THE ROCKETS: Tuesday marks the 57th meeting between Miami and Toledo with the RedHawks holding a 44-12 lead in the all-time series. The RedHawks have won six straight against the Rockets, including a 3-0 decision at Toledo on Oct. 26, 2019. When playing in Oxford, Miami is 28-1. The last time the teams met in Oxford was on Oct. 20, 2018 with Miami winning in four sets. Toledo's last win in the series was on Oct. 25, 2013, 3-1, and its last win in Oxford was on Sept. 23, 2006, 3-0.

UP NEXT: Miami continues a three-match home stretch when the RedHawks host Ohio on Friday, Mar. 12 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Mar. 13 at 5 p.m. in a Battle of the Bricks weekend series.

HUSER RECORDS 1,000th CAREER DIG: Senior Abigail Huser became the 17th member of Miami's 1,000 dig club on Thursday, March 4 at Kent State. Huser needed 13 digs entering the contest and hit the mark early in the third set. She has 1,032 entering Miami's next match.

HUSER TABBED MAC EAST DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Following her performances at Kent State where she amassed 45 digs over two matches to average 6.43 digs per set, senior libero Abigail Huser was tabbed the MAC East Division Defensive Player of the Week on March 8.

SEAMAN CLIMBS ASSIST LIST: Senior Morgan Seaman moved into ninth on Miami's career assist chart and has 2,488 entering Miami's next match. She also has played in 105 career matches. She played in her 100th career match on Feb. 18 against Western Michigan. 

ON THE ATTACK: Over Miami's last four matches, senior Avarie Powell and junior Sophie Riemersma have been solid offensive threats for the RedHawks. Each has been in double figures for kills three times over the last four matches with Riemersma averaging 3.47 kps and hitting. 284 and Powell averaging 3.13 kps and hitting .340. Riemersma has twice recorded a season-high 15 kills in the last four matches, while Powell notched a season-high 15 kills last weekend.

  • Senior Morgan Seaman has recorded five assist/dig double-doubles this season, the last coming on March 5 at Kent State.
  • Twice this season senior Morgan Seaman has surpassed 50 kills, notching 51 at Northern Illinois on Feb. 25 and a season-high 53, one off her career best, at Kent State on March 5.
  • Senior Sarah Wojick has been in double figures for kills in eight of Miami's last nine matches. She tallied a career-high 18 kills at Akron on Jan. 29.
  • Senior Abigail Huser has been in double figures for digs in 10 of MU's 12 matches this season and reached or surpassed 20-dig mark five times. Huser notched a season-best 27 digs at Northern Illinois on Feb. 25.
  • Three times this season, a Miami player has served up four aces in a match. Sophomore Allyson Severance has recorded four service aces twice, versus Buffalo on Jan. 23 and at Northern Illinois on Feb. 25. Senior Morgan Seaman also served up four aces at Akron on Jan. 29.
ECLIPSING 750 CAREER WINS: With a 3-0 win versus Buffalo on Jan. 22, Miami head coach Carolyn Condit posted her 750th career win. Condit owns a 755-562 career record in her 41st season as a head coach. Condit's 755 total victories are tied for eighth among active NCAA Division I coaches, and tied for 24th all-time. Owning more victories than any coach in the history of the Miami Athletic Department, Condit holds a 656-485 record in her 37th season in charge of the Red and White. Condit is the only volleyball coach in the history of the Mid-American Conference to win over 300 league matches, holding a conference mark of 359-214.
