SIBANDE MOVING UP RECORD BOOKS: Junior guard Nike Sibande had a tremendous game in the win over Bowling Green on Saturday, finishing with 24 points and tying a career-high with 11 rebounds. It was his sixth double-double of the season. Sibande moved into Miami's top-10 career scoring list during the contest as well after starting the day in 14th. During the game he passed Julian Mavunga (1,389 points), Wayne Embry (1,401 points), David Scott (1,410 points) and Tim Pollitz (1,411 points) He is now at 1,412 points.

SEEDING OPPORTUNITIES: Despite winning its last two games, Miami still finds itself currently seeded 12th in next week's Mid-American Conference Tournament. The RedHawks have given themselves a much better shot to move up in the standings however. They have the same record as 11th seed Western Michigan (5-11), but lose the head-to-head tiebreaker. Ninth seed Eastern Michigan and 10th seed Central Michigan are each only one game up at 6-10. Miami holds the tiebreaker against Eastern Michigan, but not with the Chippewas. The seventh and eighth seeds, which will host first round games on Monday, March 9, are held by Toledo and Ohio, each of which are 7-9 going into this week.

ABOUT BUFFALO: The Bulls are 18-11 overall and 9-7 in the MAC. They have had a good follow up campaign to their NCAA Tournament runs of the past couple of seasons, despite a new coaching staff and graduating key players from those runs. They have dropped their last two games, including an 86-73 home loss to Akron last Saturday. Buffalo has five averaging in double figures led by junior guard Jayvon Graves. He is averaging 16.9 points per game.

THE SERIES WITH THE BULLS: Miami leads the all-time series with Buffalo, 25-21. The Bulls have won five of the last six however, including an 83-78 thriller in their first meeting this season on Jan. 10 in Oxford. Each team went on long runs during the first half, with the RedHawks jumping to an 11-0 lead before the Bulls answered with a 21-2 run to go on top, 21-13. Miami fought back and took a 43-36 lead at halftime. Buffalo regained the advantage early in the second half and did not relinquish it despite the 'Hawks pulling within one possession several times. Junior forward Dalonte Brown led four in double figures with 18 points.

UP NEXT: The regular season comes to an end as Miami hosts rival Ohio for the second Battle of the Bricks contest of the season on Friday. It is Senior Day, and senior forward Bam Bowman will be honored in a pregame ceremony. Tip time is at 7 p.m. and it will air live on ESPN3. An audio broadcast will be available on the Miami Sports Network from Van Wagner. -
