FINAL TWO WEEK STRETCH IS BUSY: It will be a busy two weeks for the RedHawks before the upcoming Mid-American Conference Tournament that begins March 9. After taking on Kent State on Tuesday, Miami has its makeup game against Central Michigan on Thursday followed by its regularly scheduled game against Bowling Green Saturday. The Red and White will not have more than two days off between the games for the remainder of the season.
SIBANDE RETURNS WITH DOUBLE-DOUBLE: After missing the first game of his career due to illness, junior guard
Nike Sibande made his return against Akron on Saturday. He responded with his fifth double-double of the season, finishing with 14 points and a career-high tying 11 rebounds. Sibande has reached double figure rebounds in five games this season. Junior forward
Dalonte Brown missed the game against the Zips and remains day-to-day with an injury.
ABOUT KENT STATE: The Golden Flashes are 17-10 overall and 7-7 in the MAC. They have dropped four of their past five games. In their last game on Friday, they dropped an instant classic, 104-98, in double overtime to Buffalo. Kent State is a balanced offensive team that has four averaging in double figures and scores 76.1 points per game. It is led by senior guard Antonio Williams at 14.0 points per game. He scored a career-high 34 in the game against the Bulls last Friday. Junior forward Danny Pippen is right behind him at 13.8 points and 7.3 rebounds per contest.
THE SERIES WITH KENT STATE: Miami leads the all-time series with Kent State, 92-54. The RedHawks won the first meeting of the season between the teams, 77-74, on Jan. 14 in Oxford. Miami built a large lead and withstood a late Golden Flash comeback to secure the victory. Junior guard
