OXFORD, Ohio - After taking a 10-day break for the holidays, the Miami University men's basketball team returns to action with its final non-conference game as it welcomes Evansville to Millett Hall on Sunday. Tip time is at 1p.m. and it will air live on ESPN+. An audio broadcast will be available on the RedHawk IMG Sports Network Tunein App.

MIAMI WINNING THE NON-CONFERENCE SEASON: For the second consecutive season, the RedHawks will enter Mid-American Conference play with a winning record no matter what happens on Sunday. With a win however, Miami would earn its eighth non-conference victory, something it has not accomplished since the 1995-96 season when it went a perfect 8-0 to begin the season in non-conference play.

ANOTHER BIG GAME FOR SIBANDE: Sophomore Nike Sibande continued his torrid offensive pace with 24 points in Miami's win over South Carolina State on Dec. 20. He now has double-digit scoring efforts in 10 out of 12 games this season and has scored over 20 points three times, also finishing with 24 against Butler and Purdue Fort Wayne.

ADAWAY IMPRESSIVE VS. SCSU: Sophomore guard Jalen Adaway had 18 points on 8-for-11 shooting in the win over SCSU. He also had seven rebounds and two assists in 26:21 of action. The RedHawks were +38 against the Bulldogs when he was on the court.

ABOUT EVANSVILLE: The Purple Aces are 6-6 on the season. Like the RedHawks, they have been on a holiday break. Their last game came on Dec. 22 when they defeated Green Bay, 80-75. Evansville has three players averaging double figure scoring, led by junior guard K.J. Riley. He averages 13.4 points per game. Another key player is redshirt sophomore John Hall. He averages 10.3 points and a team-high 8.2 rebounds per contest.

THE SERIES WITH EVANSVILLE: The Purple Aces hold an 11-4 lead in the all-time series with Miami. Evansville has won the last four meetings against the RedHawks, including a 69-50 victory in their last meeting on Nov. 19, 2014 in Oxford. L.J. Livingston led the Red and White with 12 points in that contest. The last time Miami defeated Evansville was on Nov. 28, 2009, an 82-58 win.

MIAMI VS. MISSOURI VALLEY: Known for its runs in the NCAA Tournament (including Loyola's Final Four journey last season), the Missouri Valley Conference is made up of 10 schools located in the middle part of the United States. Miami is 20-21 all-time in games against the current members of the MVC. In addition to their 4-11 record against Evansville, the RedHawks are 0-1 vs. Drake, 4-1 vs. Illinois State, 3-4 vs. Indiana State, 4-1 vs. Loyola (Chi.), 2-1 vs. Missouri State, 2-1 vs. Southern Illinois and 1-1 vs. Valparaiso. Miami has never faced Bradley or Northern Iowa.

UP AHEAD: The switch to 2019 means it is time for Mid-American Conference play. The RedHawks open the MAC season at home as they welcome Central Michigan to Millett on Saturday, Jan. 5. Tip time is 2 p.m. and it will air live on either ESPN+ or ESPN3. An audio broadcast will be available on the RedHawk IMG Sports Network Tunein App.
