BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -- The Miami University men's basketball team shot 56.5 percent for the game, but could not overcome a season-high 24 turnovers in an 83-72 setback against Bowling Green on Tuesday. The RedHawks fall to 9-13 overall and 2-7 in the Mid-American Conference. The Falcons improve to 9-13 overall and 3-6 in the MAC.

Miami was 26-for-46 from the field, including an 8-for-21 (38.1 percent) performance from behind the arc. Four RedHawks finished in double figures, led by redshirt sophomore guard Jake Wright with 16 points in 34 minutes of action.

The teams were trading buckets early. Wright drained a couple of three-pointers, while freshman forward Marcus Weathers slammed one home as it was tied at eight with 15:31 to go. A layup from redshirt junior guard Dion Wade and a pair of free throws from freshman guard Michael Weathers helped the RedHawks pull within four, but the Falcons began to heat up from behind the arc, draining eight triples during the first half. Michael Weathers hit a layup with 7:42 to go that cut the deficit to six at 30-24, but that was the last bucket Miami would make from the field in the half. BGSU took advantage to close the frame on a 12-3 run and take a 42-27 lead into the break.

Miami's offense got back on track to open the second half as both freshman guard Milos Jovic and junior forward Rod Mills Jr. hit three-pointers, A layup from junior forward Logan McLane along with another triple from Wright pulled the RedHawks to within 12 at 58-46 with 13:50 to go.

A layup from Harper and a pair of free throws from Michael Weathers kept it an 11 point deficit at 61-50 at the 10:43 mark. The Falcons followed with a 13-6 run that put the score out of reach at 74-56 with 4:31 to go. Miami was able to get the lead under 10 late, but Bowling Green hits its free throws to secure the 83-72 win.
