IUPUI 78, Miami 64 
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.--Senior guard Eric Washington scored 18 points, but it was not enough as the Miami University men's basketball team suffered a 78-64 loss at IUPUI on Saturday afternoon. The RedHawks drop to 4-4, while the Jaguars move to 3-6.
Washington also notched five assists to lead all players. Senior guard Geovonie McKnight added 11 points, while senior forward LJ Livingston, Jr. tallied 10 points and a team-leading seven rebounds for the RedHawks.
A 3-pointer by Washington and a jumper by sophomore forward Rod Mills handed Miami an early five-point lead by the 15:18 mark, 9-4. IUPUI went on an 8-0 run to jump out to a 12-9 advantage with 8:58 to go in the opening half. Sophomore guard Abdoulaye Harouna sunk a jumper and knocked down the ensuing free throw to knot the game at 12 apiece a minute and a half later. IUPUI went on a 4-0 spurt to post a 16-12 edge, but a pair of McKnight free throws and a jumper from Harouna evened the score at 16-16 with 5:59 to go.
The Jaguars again pushed ahead off a five-point run. Miami came back to close within one, scoring four straight points, but the Jaguars went on an 8-2 flurry to stretch their lead to eight points with 1:46 to go, 29-22. IUPUI took a nine-point lead with under a minute to play, but a jumper by Washington with two second left put Miami within seven at the half, 35-28.
IUPUI used an 11-2 run in the opening minutes of the second half to extend its lead to 16 points by the 17:23 mark, 46-30. The Jaguars held a 50-35 lead with 16:07 to play. Miami charged back with a 13-0 surge that was fueled by a pair of 3-pointers from Washington and sophomore guard Zach McCormick to close within two of IUPUI with 12:51 to play, 50-48. The Jaguars came back with seven unanswered points to extend their lead to nine points with just under 11 minutes remaining. Miami got as close as seven points of the remainder of the game before the Jaguars went on to claim the game by a 14-point margin.
IUPUIs Darrell Combs led all players with 20 points.
The RedHawks have a week off for final examinations before returning home to host Wright State at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 13. Miami will honor its 2015-16 Hall of Fame inductees at halftime of the game against the Raiders.
