OXFORD, Ohio - Over 30 former Miami hockey players returned to the ice Saturday afternoon at Steve Cady Arena for Miami's annual summer alumni game, as part of hockey's alumni weekend.
The Red team held off a Gray team rally to pull out a 10-9 victory. The game consisted of two 25-minute, running-clock periods. Several members of Miami Hockey's current staff also played, including Miami alums head coach Enrico Blasi ('94), assistant coach Nick Petraglia ('04), strength and conditioning coach Matt Cady ('04) and senior associate athletic director Josh Fenton (M.S. '04). Miami's first varsity head coach, Steve Cady, served as referee.
Current New Jersey Devils defenseman and 2012 Stanley Cup Finals participant Andy Greene ('06) was unofficially named MVP with his six-point showing while Miami's all-time leading goal scorer Rick Kuraly ('83), whose son Sean will be a freshman on the team this coming year, recorded a hat trick. On Friday, the hockey alumni took part in a golf outing at Indian Ridge Golf Course. Photos from the golf outing are available here.
