Hockey's Alumni Weekend in Full Swing

OXFORD, Ohio - Over 50 Miami University hockey alumni return to Oxford this weekend, July 13-15, for the program's annual summer alumni weekend. The alumni coming back range from having played back when Miami was a club team all the way up to alumni from the last few years.
On Friday afternoon under sunny skies, the RedHawks hosted a golf outing for the alumni at Indian Ridge Golf Course. Prior to playing, lunch was served while the alumni hit the links following the meal, playing in foursomes while using a scramble format. A photo gallery of the golf outing is on the right.
Miami will also hold its annual summer alumni game Saturday at noon in Steve Cady Arena at the Goggin Ice Center. The game is open to the public and admission is free so come check out former Miami greats hit the ice once again. Fans are asked to enter the building through the west-side concourse doors of Steve Cady Arena.
Among the alumni returning are Andy Greene ('06), who helped lead the New Jersey Devils to the Stanley Cup Finals this past year, and Jarod Palmer ('10), who made his NHL debut this past season with the Minnesota Wild. Older alumni, such as Rick Kuraly ('83), whose son Sean will be a freshman for the RedHawks this year, is also back as well as several players from Miami's first varsity team.
Former head coaches Bill Davidge and Steve Cady are also taking part in the alumni festivities while head coach Enrico Blasi ('94), assistant coach Nick Petraglia ('04) and strength coach Matt Cady ('04) are among the Miami alumni who will be in attendance, as well.
