ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Minnesota native and former Miami RedHawk Jarod Palmer has signed a free agent contract with local NHL team, the Minnesota Wild announced over the weekend. A native of Fridley, the four-year letterwinner will join the club for training camp in September.
Palmer, Miami's record holder for games played after never missing any of the 169 over the last four years, led the RedHawks in goals (18) and points (45) as a senior, helping the school to its first two Frozen Four appearances. He also led Miami with six game-winning goals and a +27 rating.
For his career, Palmer ranks 12th all-time with 137 points on 47 goals and 90 assists. His assist total stands ninth on Miami's career charts, while he was also was a +56 during his tenure.
