Junior forward Nick Winbush tallied his first career double-double with a career-high 10 boards and 10 points. His previous career high for rebounds was six at Kentucky.
Junior guard/forward Antonio Ballard made his first start of the season and the 17th of his career.
Miami hit its second field goal of the game at the 16:06 mark, taking a 6-5 lead. Temple went on a 25-0 run from 15:27 until junior forward Nick Winbush finally drained a 3-pointer at 6:42 to halt the Owl flurry. Temple hit five treys during the stretch, with four coming from Luis Guzman.
Luis Guzman hit a season-high for points in the first nine minutes of the game, draining three 3-pointers for nine points. He had previously scored eight points twice this season. Guzman finished with 12 points.
Temple had a season low for turnovers with five. The previous low was six, which they reached in their last two outings.
Temple drained a season-high 11 three-pointers. The Owls'previous best was nine at at Western Michigan on Dec. 1.
Temple is 3-0 against the Mid-American Conference this season with additional wins over Western Michigan and Ball State.
Adam Thomas saw his first action of the season, playing two minutes and grabbing a rebound.
Miami shot a season-low 35.4 percent from the field (17 of 48). It was the first time that the RedHawks have been under the 40th percentile as the previous low was 40.4 percent at New Mexico.
