Men's Hoops Takes Down Marshall 59-51

OXFORD, Ohio (AP) - Monty St. Clair grabbed a defensive rebound and then hit a 3-pointer to give Miami the lead for good with 11:56 to play as the RedHawks beat Marshall 59-51 Tuesday night.

Danny Horace led Miami (16-6, 11-3 Mid-American Conference) with 15 points. St. Clair finished with 11 points.

Ronny Dawn and Tre Whitted scored 11 apiece for Marshall ( 5-18, 2-12), and David Anderson added 10 points.

Miami led 33-24 at halftime, but Marshall started the second half with a 15-2 run that included 3-pointers by Dawn and Whitted and a pair of free throws by Anderson, before the RedHawks started to rally back.

Doug Penno hit a 3-pointer, St. Clair followed with the go-ahead score to give Miami a 41-39 lead and the RedHawks held off the Thundering Herd the rest of the way.

The winning margin came at the free throw line, where Miami was 14 of 18 and Marshall hit 5 of 10.
