AMHERST, N.Y. - Roderick Middleton scored 17 points and Turner Battle added 16 more to help lift Buffalo to a 67-56 win over Miami University on Saturday.
The Bulls (10-4, 3-3 Mid-American Conference) won for the third time in their last four games, and improved to 6-1 at home this season.
Miami (8-5, 3-2) was led by Danny Horace, who had 15 points. Chet Mason recorded his second consecutive double-double by contributing 14 points and 12 rebounds, and William Hatcher had 14 points as the RedHawks lost for the second time in their last three games.
The game got off to a sloppy start, with the RedHawks missing their first 11 shots before Nate VanderSluis' layup with 9:52 to go in the first-half made the score 7-2. During the game-starting drought, Miami also committed five fouls and six turnovers.
Miami was able to take its first lead, 47-46, after Horace's jumper capped a 10-3 run with 6:52 left in the game. But Buffalo iced the win with a 14-3 finishing spurt as Middleton and Battle combined for all but two points during the stretch.
