Miami women’s basketball head coach Megan Duffy announced that she promoted Justine Raterman to assistant coach on May 17, 2018.

“I am extremely excited to announce Justine’s promotion to assistant coach,” said Duffy. “She has helped our staff and players reach great heights in year one. Her loyalty and work ethic in so many dimensions of Miami Basketball shined. Our team will continue to thrive having Justine now on the court in workouts. She’s a terrific player development coach that knows what it takes to improve year in and year out. We’re thrilled to have future RedHawks meet a proven winner both on and off the court.”

Raterman has spent the past two years as Miami’s Director of Video Operations. Her duties included all video-related tasks including practice, game, scout, and special event videos. In addition to managing film and video tasks, Raterman assisted with in-office recruiting, helped organize special event games including Goals for Life, Love.Honor.Care, Alumnae Weekend, and Family STEM Night. She also helped with social media and served as the marketing and ticketing liaison.

“I am so grateful for the opportunity that Coach Duffy has given me,” said Raterman. “Having been a part of her staff last year, I have seen the drive and dedication that she exemplifies every single day and I am eager to get on the court and learn the ropes from such a phenomenal coach and person. I am excited to be a part of a program that is on the rise at such a top-notch university. I know how special Miami is and I can't wait to get started as an assistant coach!”

Raterman was key in helping Dayton break out as a regional powerhouse in women's basketball. While at Dayton, Raterman was a four time All-Atlantic 10 selection including Rookie of the Year, two First Team Selections, and Atlantic 10 Tournament 2012 Most Outstanding Performer. She was also the first player in Atlantic 10 history to be named to four consecutive All Championship Teams. Raterman was a three-time recipient of UD's Most Valuable Player Award and was invited to USA Basketball's World University Games but had to decline due to injury. She was named a Lowe's Senior CLASS First-Team All-American in 2012 for her excellence on the court, in the classroom and in the community.

Raterman graduated from Dayton in 2012 as a double major, earning bachelor's degrees in mathematics and in science and education and allied studies.

Before arriving at Miami, Raterman spent the previous three years as an operations research analyst at Booz Allen Hamilton.
