2016-17: Swam in 10 meets ... primary events are the 500 and 1000 freestyle ... finished thirteenth in the MAC Championships (3/1-4) in the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:31.12 ... placed fifth in the 1000 freestyle against OSU (11/12) with a time of 9:56.47 ... earned tenth place at the MAC Championships in the 1650 freestyle with a time of 15:59.77 ... finished in fifth place with a time of 3:12.33 against Buffalo (1/21) as a part of the 400 freestyle relay.
2015-2016: In the 200-yard freestyle, took ninth vs. OSU (1:47.82) and sixth vs. Buffalo (1:45.60) ... competed in the 500-yard freestyle, where he took seventh vs. Cincinnati (4:55.60) and 22nd at the Miami Invitational (4:45.89) ... earned fifth in the 1000-yard freestyle vs. Cincinnati (10:03.57) ... swam a leg of the second-place finishing 400-yard freestyle relay vs. OSU (3:18.45).
2013-2014: McNamara began the season with a third-place finish in the 500 freestyle. He was fourth in the 200 freestyle against Purdue and took fifth in the 200 freestyle relay against the Boilermakers. At the Miami Invitational, McNamara was ninth in the 1650 freestyle, sixth in the 800 freestyle relay, 18th in the 400 IM and 19th in 500 freestyle. Against Cincinnati, McNamara was fourth in the 1000 freestyle and third in the 500 freestyle. He also was fifth in the 200 freestyle relay. He was sixth and fifth in the 100 backstroke and 200 backstroke, respectively, against Evansville. Against Buffalo, he was a fifth-place finisher in the 1650 freestyle, seventh in the 500 freestyle and sixth in the 200 freestyle relay. McNamara swam to a fourth-place finish in the 1000 freestyle, a fourth-place finish to the 500 freestyle and fifth in the 400 freestyle relay against Eastern Michigan. He was third in the 400 medley relay against Ball State, took second in the 200 freestyle and earned his first individual win of his Miami career in the 500 freestyle.
High School: Swam for Dennis Beck at Lakota West High School ... earned four-letters in swimming and was a captain his junior and senior years ... team record holder in the 200 and 500 free and a four-time state qualifier in those events where his best finish at the state level was sixth in both events during his senior year ... was second-team All-State.
Personal: Son of Pat and Gail McNamara ... born October 8, 1994 ... his brother, Brenden McNamara, swam for two years at the University of Kentucky ... majoring in Sports Leadership & Management.
