Earned three letters as a catcher at Stebbins High School under head coach Paul Neves ... served as team captain as a junior and senior ... named First-Team All-Central Buckeye Conference in 2008 and 2009 (junior and senior) and earned second-team all-area honors as a senior.

Born in August of 1991 at Lakenheath Air Force Base in England ... son of James and Kim Bowles ... majoring in sports studies ... older brother, Devin, played baseball at Urbana University.
