Schaad Joins Miami Volleyball Staff

Lisa Schaad joins the Miami volleyball program as an assistant coach for the 2026 season, bringing nearly 30 years of coaching and athlete development experience to the RedHawks.Â
Schaad most recently served as head volleyball coach and Assistant Director of Athletics at Franklin Road Academy in Nashville, Tennessee, where she led the volleyball program and supported K–12 athletics through coach development and athletic administration.

"Lisa is one of the most respected coaches in our region, and we're excited to welcome her to Miami," said head coach Dan Gwitt. "She brings a wealth of experience at every level of the game, an incredible eye for player development and a proven ability to build-championship-caliber cultures.

"Throughout her career, she's impacted countless student-athletes both on and off the court, helping them grow as competitors and as people. Her passion for teaching, commitment to excellence and ability to build meaningful relationships make her an outstanding addition to our program. Our student-athletes will benefit tremendously from her leadership, and we're fortunate to have her join our staff."

Prior to her time in Nashville, Schaad spent 15 years with Elevation Volleyball Club in the Cincinnati area as Club and Facilities Director, where she led the program's growth into one of the region's premier volleyball organizations with national recognition.

She also spent seven seasons as head coach at Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy, leading the program to three State Final Four appearances and earning multiple District and League Coach of the Year honors.

Throughout her career, Schaad has guided hundreds of student-athletes through the collegiate recruiting process and has compiled extensive experience in technical training, athlete development and building competitive team cultures.

A Lebanon High School Athletic Hall of Fame inductee, Schaad competed as an NCAA Division I student-athlete at Western Kentucky University, serving as team captain during her senior season. She returns to her home state of Ohio to join the RedHawks. Her son, Roman, competes in collegiate men's volleyball as a setter.
