DAYTON, Ohio – The Miami University softball team (35-16, 16-8 MAC) fell to the University of Dayton (22-21, 11-10 A-10) 4-0 on Tuesday afternoon.

UP NEXT: The RedHawks return to Oxford for their senior weekend series against Bowling Green State University beginning Friday, May 1. First pitch that afternoon is scheduled for 3 p.m.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Dayton scored all four of its runs in the first inning, using a two-RBI double followed by a two-run home run to take an early lead.
- Miami's defense settled in after the first, holding Dayton without a run the rest of the way, but the RedHawks were unable to get on the scoreboard.
NOTES
- Danitza Hernandez went 2-for-3 at the plate.
- Mckenna Campbell also finished 2-for-3.
