HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Jake Tedesco pitched the first two innings for Miami, holding the Musketeers scoreless and throwing four strikeouts. Miami took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second as Christopher Roa hit his second home run of the season, a solo shot to right field.
- Matthew Buffington caught a runner stealing home to end the third inning and get the RedHawks out of a bases-loaded jam.
- The RedHawks took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the third. Miami put two aboard with a walk and an HBP and advanced the lead runner, Buffington, to third on a fielder's choice. A groundout by Tommy Harrison sent the run home.
- The Musketeers leadoff batter in the fourth hit a solo home run to right field to make it a 2-1 game. In the top of the fifth, Xavier brought a runner to third with an error and a groundout and tied the game on an RBI groundout that brought the runner home. Ignacio Gonzalez responded with a solo home run to help the RedHawks reclaim the lead at 3-2 in the bottom of the fifth inning.
- Roa hit a leadoff double in the bottom of the sixth and advanced to third as Mason Breidenbach came up with a pinch-hit single. Cruz hit his sixth round-tripper of the year, clearing the bags and putting the RedHawks up 6-2.
- Xavier scored two runs in the top of the seventh, capitalizing on a walk, single and double in their first three at-bats to make it a 6-4 game.
- The Musketeers tied the game in the top of the ninth, 6-6, as they scored with a double and a sac fly after putting two runners on base.
- Evan Appelwick led off the bottom of the ninth with an infield single, but the RedHawks were unable to score, bringing the game to extras.
- Miami fell into a jam in the top of the tenth, loading the bases with no outs and walking in two runs to give Xavier an 8-6 lead. A groundout marked the first out of the inning but allowed Xavier to score another run. The Muskies took a 10-6 lead on a wild pitch before Miami ended the inning by catching the runner on first in a pickle.
- With two outs in the bottom of the ninth, Cruz hit his second homer of the day, a solo home run to bring Miami back within three runs at 10-7. The RedHawks were unable to complete the comeback.
