OXFORD, Ohio – The Miami University softball team (31-13, 12-6 MAC) fell 8-0 to Purdue University (26-15, 6-9 BIG 10) on Wednesday afternoon.

UP NEXT: The RedHawks stay in Oxford, Ohio, for their weekend series against Ball State University, starting on Friday, April 17. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Purdue kicked off the scoring in the third, with a three-run homer to left field. They then hit an inside-the-park home run in the fifth, to make the score 4-0.
- The Boilermakers added to the lead in the seventh with another three-run home run to center field. They added an unearned run shortly after with an RBI double to center field and made the final score 8-0.
- Presley Hosick leads the MAC in ERA (2.42)
- Leila Mathis went 1-for-2 at the plate and had two putouts.
- Ella Carter totaled eight putouts at first.
