WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – On Wednesday evening the Miami University softball team fell to Purdue University 2-0. The RedHawks move to 26-23 on the season (15-7 MAC). Purdue improves to 26-17 (8-8 Big Ten).

UP NEXT: The RedHawks return to Mid-American Conference play on April 29 when they take on Bowling Green State University at 1 p.m. for a doubleheader in Bowling Green, Ohio.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The game remained scoreless through the first two innings.
- In the bottom of the third, the Boilermakers took a 1-0 lead on a RBI single.
- Purdue doubled its lead to 2-0 in that same inning on a fielder's choice.
- The Boilermakers held this lead through the remainder of the game to take the 2-0 win.
NOTES:
- Shelby Kunkel surpassed 300 career at-bats (301).
- Ella Carter had the RedHawks' sole hit.
- Madilyn Reeves went five innings on the mound, allowing only three hits and two runs. She struck out three.
- Léa Chevrier was in the circle for one inning. She did not allow a single hit and struck out two.
